Glorious Dorset

Summary:

Many people in the UK are affected by Dementia and Alzheimer's every year. It's a harsh disease that can completely change a person's life. According to Alzheimer's Research Uk, One person every three minutes, in the UK, will develop Dementia.

Glorious Dorset are ambitious to celebrate those we have lost, in a positive light, by archiving the highlight moments in the lives of two local entertainers. Tributing Gloria Hockey and Reginald Daponte, who were showbiz entertainers from Southbourne UK, that performed all over England and as far as the Monte Carlo Golf Club!

Glorious Dorset hopes to provide awareness & connectivity for BCP’s residents, who are impacted by Dementia. 

Aims:

• Raise up to £5000 for Alzheimer’s Research. 

• Host a community fundraiser launch event.

• Become a funded project within BCP.

• Provide weekly creative-craft workshops for local residential care homes in BCP, that are underfunded or unable to provide enough entertainment for their residents.

• Recover and archive materials dedicated to the heritage of our community.
